About SpayGeorgia's low-cost

Spay/Neuter Certificates

SpayGeorgia provides low-cost spay/neuter certificates at an affordable price intended for people who need partial financial assistance in order to have their pets spayed or neutered.   By having your pet spayed or neutered, you are acting responsibly as part of the solution to the tragedy of pet overpopulation.

Each spay/neuter certificate covers the cost of routine spay/neuter surgery, including preparation for surgery, anesthesia, the spay/neuter procedure, routine hospitalization as required, and removal of stitches if necessary. Vaccinations, testing for diseases, deworming, and all other medical procedures are not covered by the certificate, and you are responsible for payment for these services.

While SpayGeorgia is a low-cost program, it is not a free program.

You Can Help Save Lives

SpayGeorgia receives no federal, state, county, or other governmental funding. We depend completely on volunteers and donations. Your tax-deductible donation is vital.  We cannot provide lost cost spay/neutering without it.

Post-Surgery

Your veterinarian will provide post-operative instructions for you to follow. Below are aftercare instructions for the first 24 hours after surgery from the Animal Humane Society

  • Allow your pet to recover in a quiet, safe place indoors.
  • Be aware that your pet’s behavior may be slightly altered in the first 24 hours after surgery. For example, they may be glassy-eyed, sleepy, nauseous, wobbly, vocal, shivering, or irritable.
  • Encourage frequent movement indoors to help your pet recover from the anesthesia. Allowing them to rest uninterrupted will result in longer recovery and potential complications.
  • Offer small amounts of the food they eat regularly and water later in the evening. Your pet may feel nauseous, and it can take up to 48 hours for their appetite to return to normal.

Make a Donation

Widespread spay/neuter can significantly reduce he number of homeless animals. This is a humane alternative to the “impound and destroy” system used by animal control agencies.

SpayGeorgia depends entirely on membership fees, donations, and fundraising events to support our programs. We do not receive moneys from any group or government agency.
